Glastonbury Mystical Experience - Join our July 20-25 2026 trip

from Andy Caroll:

Glastonbury Tor

I don’t believe the tower on the Tor is what the official information claims it to be (I noticed Masonic carvings on the structure). However, the Tor itself is undoubtedly a very ancient and powerful place.

The day after the Summer Solstice, it was extremely hot—you weren’t getting to the top without breaking a sweat.

I’ve never been one to follow everyone else’s path, so on the way down I chose my own route. My brother and his wife followed me. Then, out of seemingly nowhere, we all saw the same figure—a woman in a flowing red gown, as if from another time.

She moved quickly, yet looked completely unaffected by the heat—fresh, almost untouched by the environment. She was ahead of us, turned a corner… and vanished.

I ran to the exact spot, but she had completely disappeared.

Later, the three of us compared what we saw. We all noticed the same thing—she didn’t appear to be walking on the ground. Her feet were close together, moving as if walking, yet she was actually gliding across the grass.

The Tor sits on an aquifer, and the water that rises there flows down into the White Spring, where people can bathe. Volunteers who care for the space all have different experiences, but many of them conclude that there is some kind of portal there.

The water from the White Spring is powerful, but be cautious if collecting water—avoid the “red” spring across the road. It is high in iron (hence its color), and it once made a friend of mine feel unwell due to iron overload.

The Abbey is another fascinating place to explore. And of course, Glastonbury lies on the Michael ley line.

Interestingly, much of the land in the area is owned by two men named Michael—one of the most well-known being Michael Eavis, the founder of the Glastonbury Festival.

The George & Pilgrim Hotel, located next to the Abbey, is also worth visiting. Known as one of the oldest inns in the county, it has served many purposes, but primarily provided accommodation for pilgrims since the late 1400s. It’s a beautiful Gothic building that still carries the atmosphere of the Abbey’s former grandeur.

There is no shortage of places to explore in the area—these are just some of the highlights.
